Joint Research Labs

Irdeto's strong ties to academia have led to the formulation of joint research laboratories with leading institutions, particularly in China.

The first Irdeto joint research lab was established in 2009 at Northwest University located in the ancient Chinese capital city of Xian. The Northwest-Irdeto Internet of Things & Information Security Joint Lab (NISL) is the first research lab to focus on software security and protection research in China. On October 2012, this research partnership was renewed to research new security challenges in this rapidly evolving field.

Based on mutual interest, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and Irdeto have signed a collaboration agreement to establish a joint research laboratory in Shanghai. SJTU is recognized as one of the most prestigious universities in China, jointly run by the Chinese Ministry and Shanghai Municipality. The university, through its century-long history, has nurtured large numbers of outstanding figures, including many Chinese leaders and leading scientists, and has made significant contributions to the thriving and prosperity of the nation and the development of science and technology. Together, we are working to make further enhancements to our white-box cryptography that will enable us to provide our customers with new features and capabilities to Irdeto’s products that depend on this technology and establish SJTU’s team as one of the leading research organizations in the field.
