A Day in the Life of an Intern

Before starting my internship I had envisioned a year of running around performing menial tasks that nobody else wanted to do; like photocopying, making tea, cleaning up etc. however I was hugely mistaken. I started immediately working on real activities which made me feel important. I realized that I am a real asset to the company rather than being a burden.

Arriving at Irdeto on the first day I was greeted by many friendly faces. It made me feel very welcome and helped to settle my nerves. I was brought up to my new office environment and met the team that I would be work with during the duration of my placement.

The day-to-day work is quite varied which is something I enjoy. The change motivates me and keeps me focused. I am involved in the installing of IBS 5.4, creating Virtual Machines and databases, creating and editing web pages and web content, installing windows operating systems on servers. No two days are the same which makes coming to work an exciting encounter. I am learning a lot of new skills which will be of great benefit to me and will help to increase my career possibilities upon the completion of my degree.

I would highly recommend Irdeto to anyone who is looking for a career enhancing work placement and interested in learning new skills. During the internship you will gain useful training and guidance while at the same time enjoying your life here in The Netherlands.
