Irdeto Wins ZTE Corporation’s Best Software Partner Award

OMA DRM solution

Beijing – 3 March 2010 – Irdeto, a leading expert in content and business model protection solutions and services, has been awarded “Best Software Partner” by ZTE Corporation for the OMA DRM (Digital Rights Management) client solutions that have been deployed to protect rich media content on mobile devices by major operator networks around the world, including Vodafone, Portugal Telecom and France Telecom.

This award reflects successful partnership between Irdeto and ZTE that has already seen OMA DRM client solutions rolled out by more than 10 mobile operators, as part of the Chinese telecom equipment supplier’s global business expansion.

“Our customers are increasingly developing new revenue streams based on mobile multimedia services for consumers that depend on content security and IP protection, and with its powerful security technology, Irdeto has proved to be an effective partner in meeting these needs to boost our business growth,” said Kan Yu Lun, CTO, Handset R&D Division, ZTE Corporation. “We chose Irdeto because of its track record of innovation in conditional access (CA) and DRM solutions. The decision has worked well thanks to the company’s continuous high level of product development backed by reliable technical support.”

Irdeto's OMA DRM solutions allow content to be widely distributed among mobile users in the confidence that the content is secure and that IP (Intellectual Property) rights are well protected. It also conforms to stringent operator and device requirements, while providing a simplified integration process that accelerates network deployment on Windows Mobile platform devices ranging from less robust feature phones to the highest performance smart phones.

"This award is very important for us because it also represents a validation of our commitment to the fast growing Asian markets – and especially China,” said Graham Kill, CEO of Irdeto. “Our partnership with ZTE, one of China’s most important telecoms equipment players, supplements the steps taken to consolidate our position in Beijing where our dual headquarters and R&D facilities are now located.”
