Monic@ash and MTN Côte d’Ivoire Select Irdeto to Secure Mobile Broadcast TV Services in the Ivory Coast

Irdeto Mobile TV Service Protection is the First Commercial Rollout in Western Africa

Barcelona, Spain — Mobile World Congress 2008 — February 11, 2008 Irdeto, the proven expert in content security for digital TV, IPTV and mobile, today announced a deal to secure mobile broadcast TV services across the MTN Côte d’Ivoire network in the West African nation.

MTN Côte d’Ivoire is a subsidiary of MTN Group, the leading mobile operator in Africa. The project will be operated technically by local business partner Monic@sh for MTN subscribers. The solution includes Gemalto’s advanced mobile TV smart cards, which ensure the highest levels of security required to implement Irdeto’s conditional access (CA) application.
