Irdeto’s MedTech Cybersecurity Platform selected by the IoT Solutions World Congress to showcase medical device security capabilities

Irdeto’s groundbreaking technology will be featured in CLB Group’s new IoMT acoustic monitoring solution, providing real-time detection and response at the device level for managing security risks

AMSTERDAM – January 31, 2023 Irdeto, the world leader in digital platform cybersecurity, today announces its IoMT and Connected Medical Device Postmarket Cybersecurity Platform has been selected by the IoT Solutions World Congress to provide a testbed during the event. This is done in partnership with CLB Group, the Dutch leader for medical alarm and acoustic monitoring solutions.

Testbeds are experimentation platforms deployed and tested in an environment that resembles real-world conditions. They show how new technologies and services can be usefully deployed. The testbed will be strategically placed on the exhibition floor, allowing attendees to experience the most advanced and innovative solutions provided by Irdeto.

CLB Group is currently developing new IoMT solutions that rely much more on the cloud than their existing products and that require more advanced security. In partnering with Irdeto for this testbed during the IOTSWC event, they will be able to demonstrate real-time security aspects on their device and the lifecycle security risk management of the open-source components in their software.

Irdeto’s solution is the first of its kind to provide real-time detection and response at the device level within an expertly designed platform built for managing Software Bill of Materials (SBOM), vulnerabilities and lifecycle management of security risks, as well as providing a streamlined interface to communicate these security risks directly to stakeholders. Current market solutions from competitors only partially cover the industry challenges or focus solely on the hospital or developer needs.

The MedTech specific Cybersecurity Platform by Irdeto is also the first to provide a complete solution for security risk management for IoMT and connected medical devices, ensuring total compliance with new US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Union Medical Device Regulation (MDR) requirements for cybersecurity.

“We are proud to be the first to market with an innovative solution that provides everything needed to manage security risk and comply with regulatory cybersecurity requirements. This is a huge accomplishment, and we are excited about our testbed partnership with the CLB Group,” said Steeve Huin, Chief Operating Officer of Connected Health for Irdeto.

“Irdeto’s solution drastically simplifies the complexity of securing medical devices by providing a straightforward interface to communicate important security risks to our key stakeholders and MDMS customers, helping mitigate threats to patient safety,” said Mathijs de Bruin, Managing Director of CLB Group.

IOTSWC will take place in Barcelona from 31 January to 2 February.
