Digiturk deploys Irdeto’s industry-leading 360 Video Security Services
Turkey’s market leading pay-TV operator Digiturk now has access to a diverse set of Irdeto technologies, including Irdeto Watermarking and Cardless CA solutions, consolidating the world’s leading cybersecurity company as their primary video security partner
AMSTERDAM – February 1, 2023 – Irdeto, the world leader in digital platform cybersecurity, has strengthened its partnership with Turkey’s market leading pay-TV broadcaster Digiturk, expanding the portfolio of Irdeto products and services currently used by deploying Irdeto’s integrated 360 Video Security Services to protect their premium content.
Part of beIN Media Group, which reaches 55 million subscribers in 40 countries, Digiturk is the main sports broadcaster in Turkey, holding the rights for the Turkish Super Lig, Turkish 1st League, France’s Ligue 1, the English Premier League, Germany’s Bundesliga, in addition to a variety of best-in-class sports content.
Piracy is a multi-faceted problem, requiring a full suite of integrated security solutions to protect broadcasting revenue and the sporting eco-system. Irdeto’s additional services give Digiturk access to state-of-the-art technology, such as cardless conditional access, forensic watermarking (for both OTT and linear broadcast distribution) and advanced protection services. Irdeto’s suite of cyber services ensures that broadcasts are protected for Digiturk’s valued customers through rapid identification and blocking of any illegally re-distributed premium assets.
Digiturk started migrating to cardless technology in 2022 through Irdeto Cloaked CA, the most advanced and widely deployed cardless conditional access system worldwide. This update will result in cost efficiencies for Digiturk while still ensuring the highest protection for their pay-TV customers.
“With operators worldwide now offering a broad range of content-based services from set-top boxes, the requirement for premium security is paramount. We’re pleased to be Digiturk’s primary video security partner, expanding the relationship through the deployment of Irdeto’s new Cloaked CA and watermarking solutions,” said Richard Frankland, SVP of Global Sales in Video Entertainment at Irdeto. “We will provide the cybersecurity they need and enhance their ability to acquire premium content rights, and ensure they remain protected.”
“We have very longstanding relationship with Irdeto for our content protection technology solutions. Now we are expanding our use of Irdeto’s services by deploying their latest Cloaked CA and OTT watermarking technologies, providing Digiturk with an integrated solution against risks posed by broadcast piracy,” said Hatice Memiguven, EVP of Technology at Digiturk.
By introducing Irdeto’s 360 Video Security solution, Digiturk ensures access to the latest technology to secure their pay-TV platform through one single supplier, trusted by key operators and content owners worldwide. Irdeto’s portfolio allows content owners and operators to implement an intelligence-driven approach to anti-piracy, ensuring their valuable content is protected for paying customers.
